SMT & Through-Hole PCB Assembly
Arkle offers advanced Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-Hole (THT) assembly services from our UK-based facility. With over 50 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, we support clients with flexible, high-quality assembly processes tailored to your project requirements. Whether you're building compact, densely populated PCBs or require mechanically secure THT components, our team ensures precise, consistent results across every build. We also handle hybrid assemblies that combine both technologies.
Surface Mount Technology (SMT)
We operate high-precision SMT lines capable of placing fine-pitch components, BGAs, QFNs and micro passives. SMT is ideal for compact designs and high-speed automated production. Arkle's equipment and skilled operators ensure repeatability, efficiency and inspection at every stage.
Through-Hole Assembly (THT)
Through-hole assembly remains essential for components requiring mechanical strength, such as connectors, transformers and power components. Our team uses both manual and selective soldering for robust, consistent results. We support legacy product builds and designs that demand higher reliability.
Hybrid PCB Builds
Many of today’s PCBs use a combination of SMT and THT. Arkle manages hybrid assemblies with integrated workflows, inspection, and reflow/soldering control. Whether you need engineering input or production flexibility, we deliver assemblies with full process traceability.
Inspection & Process Control
All builds undergo AOI, manual inspection and X-ray (where applicable) to IPC-A-610 standards. Our engineers validate solder joints, placements, and alignment throughout. We maintain tight process control from first-off approval to batch consistency.
